In 1951 George Stephen was working for Weber Brothers Metal Works outside of Chicago, welding large metal spheres together to make buoys for the Coast Guard. It was in these spheres that his idea took shape. He knew a rounded cooking bowl with a lid was the key to success. He added three legs to the bottom, a handle to the top, took it home and the neighbours who called it a "sputnick" were treated to a delicious grilled steak.

He sparked a backyard revolution with his innovative design - the first kettle-shaped charcoal grill.

And so.........The Weber® Kettle was born.

In 1985 he launched the Genesis® gas grill. Another grilling revolution with a new and innovative cooking system - the best on the market!!

Now years and millions of cook-ups later the name Weber® is synonymous with quality.

We at Supreme Barbeques are proud to be New Zealand's distributor of Weber® barbeques and accessories. Supreme Barbeques Limited opened in July 1996 housing the Weber® range and we have grown the awareness of the brand for it to be at the top end of the market both in quality and back-up service.
